Executive Committee (from 1994)

Janet is a lawyer with over 30 years' experience advising on all aspects of global executive and employee share plans.

She is one of the founding members of the Share Plan Lawyers and is the longest serving executive committee member having been on the board since 1994. Janet chaired the regulatory and governance committee for a number of years.

Janet was one of the first women partners at Linklaters and created and lead the Linklaters global incentives practice for over 20 years before founding specialist law firm Tapestry, which was transferred to an EOT in 2020.

Janet is a co-founder of the Global Equity Organisation which she co-founded with Carine Schneider in 1999, she was on the GEO Board for 24 years and in April 2023 when she stood down from the board she was appointed Co-founder and Vice Chair Emeritus.  She was also one of the founding members of Proshare and is the Chair of its advisory board.  Janet co-founded the Share Schemes Advanced Studies Group which has meets with Parliamentarians on a regular basis since 1992.

Janet was awarded an OBE in 2016 for ‘Services to equality, women’s empowerment and employee share plans’. 

She is a Fellow of the Global Equity Organisation, Chartered Governance Institute, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Royal Society of Arts.  

Janet has been on the board of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for 9 years, one of its first women trustees in its 200 year history and the first woman to be the Chair of the RNLI (2021-2023).  She is a non-executive director of Nurture Landscapes Group and Chair of its Remuneration Committee.
